Jim Marshall’s Legacy Leadership

The Minnesota Vikings unveiled a Jim Marshall Vikings Captains Legacy installation to honor Jim Marshall’s 14 seasons as team captain from 1966-1979. In his announcement, Head Coach Kevin O’Connell called Marshall “the greatest captain in the history of our organization” for his leadership both on and off the field.
Jim continued to be a leader in retirement by co-founding The Link with teammate Oscar Reed in 1991. Together, they were committed to doing whatever it takes to support youth in North Minneapolis who were living in poverty or getting involved in crime. Today, The Link is honored to continue working within their vision to create a community where every young person has the opportunity to thrive.
