About Parent Support
The Link’s Parent Support Program is designed to be culturally-specific to Black families and provides case management and support to parents of youth who are involved in the juvenile justice system in Minneapolis. The goal of the program is to empower parents with the tools they need to increase stability and support their youth in building a healthy future free from systems involvement.
Services
The Parent Support Program offers comprehensive case management, partnering with parents of the youth in The Link’s Youth Advocacy Division, to find stable housing, enroll in benefits, increase incomes, and more. The program also works to strengthen parent-child relationships, educate families on their rights within the school, and empowers parents to advocate for their youth to receive equitable treatment and access to supports like special education and language programs. With increased stability at home and parent involvement at school, youth can focus on the goals they have for the future.
Referral Process
Youth Advocacy Division staff refer family members of current program participants.
