Female Identifying
About POWER
POWER (Positive Opportunities for Women of Every Race) is a combination of individualized case management and structured group programming serving youth who identify as female and are between the ages of 12 and 24.
Services
The POWER Program was designed by and for girls and young women who engaged in juvenile crime and were referred from the court or a Probation Officer. POWER provides an innovative approach by seeing youth holistically, building positive relationships, assisting in goal planning, and meeting youth-identified needs. Through weekly groups and one-on-one case management, youth are supported as they build self-worth and empathy; understand that others value and trust them; develop trusting relationships with peers and adults; improve positive decision-making skills; and making progress towards goals. The goal of the program is to prevent further involvement in juvenile crime and to achieve goals in Restorative Justice, Family and Community Connections, Education and Economic Self-Sufficiency, and Health and Wellness.
Referral Process
Referrals for this program are received exclusively through Hennepin County Juvenile Probation.
