For Youth

Outreach

You can get connected with The Link by calling our crisis line, completing the form above, connecting with a Street Outreach worke, visiting our Drop-In Center, or receiving a referral from a partner organization or government agency. No matter how you connect with The Link, you will be accepted for who you are, listened to without judgement, and offered resources like a warm meal or help finding a safe place to sleep.

To connect with The Link’s Street Outreach team, call or text (612) 718-1701.

Programs

The Link’s programs were co-designed by youth who have lived experiences of homelessness, abuse, being in the life, juvenile detention, and being in the foster care system. Based on your experiences, you will be connected to one of The Link’s programs that offers shelter, housing, mental health and healing services, help enrolling in school, support completing probation, and more. Once you are enrolled in a program, you will work one-on-one with a Case Manager who will listen to you, work with you to create a safety plan (if needed), help you access resources like transportation and food, and empower you to advocate for yourself and your family.

Supportive services

Every young person in The Link’s programs works with a dedicated Case Manager. In addition to helping you get your basic needs met, your Case Manager will support you in creating your own goals. Youth may choose to focus on securing permanent housing, completing probation, reenrolling in school, getting vital documents, finding employment, and more. To help you reach your goals, Case Managers will meet with you regularly, help you to navigate systems to complete applications for benefits or health care, and provide basic needs items. Case Managers can also connect you to additional services at The Link and in the community like job training, mental health groups, chemical health programs, and more.
